Homewards Fund Grant

Invisible Cities

Invisible Cities have been awarded a Homewards Fund grant to launch their walking tours in Aberdeen, upskilling and enhancing employment opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness.

The programme will train people who have experienced homelessness to become walking tour guides of their city. Participants will benefit from training in areas including public speaking, story-telling, history, customer service, first aid and life skills.

The initiative intends to create opportunity and employment routes for people with lived experience while breaking down the stigma that exists around homelessness.

“We are so excited to be working with Homewards and receive funding for our activities in Aberdeen. Thanks to this support we will be able to reach more people through our training and share more stories that highlight what a rich, collaborative and kind city Aberdeen is, which is what our tours are all about. We can’t wait to start working with people and develop their skills for the future.”
