The launch follows months of collaborative planning between Homewards BCP’s strategic review partner, EveryYouth, BCP Council and a range of local partners. The group has been created to bring clearer coordination, direction and accountability to the area’s work to respond to and prevent youth homelessness.
The need for the group is clear: youth homelessness is a complex issue that spans many different services and sectors. By bringing together people from public, private, voluntary and community organisations, the group will offer shared leadership and a joined‑up approach.
The group will be chaired by Frances Beecher, who brings over 20 years of experience in youth homelessness prevention. She will help guide the group’s strategic direction and ensure strong collective accountability. Importantly, young people aged 16-24 will play a central role in co‑designing the group’s work, contributing to focus groups, actions and the delivery of the Homewards BCP Action Plan. Their voices will help shape how support is developed and delivered locally.
