First Homewards Households Receive Essential Support thanks to The Multibank

The Multibank charity, recently announced as an Activator for Homewards, has made strong early progress in its commitment to furnish homes across Homewards’ six flagship locations.

20 households in Aberdeen and Sheffield’s Innovative Housing Projects have so far received items such as crockery, cutlery, furniture bedding and cleaning products to help the new tenants settle into their new homes.

The Multibank sources high‑quality surplus goods from UK businesses and redirects them to people who need them most. Evidence shows that people are 12.5% more likely to sustain a tenancy when they are provided with furniture and essential household goods.

The furniture and essentials supplied through the partnership are backed by several of the UK’s major retailers, including B&Q, Bosch Home Appliances, DFS Group, and IKEA (a Homewards Activator), who are collectively helping to ensure new tenants have the foundations they need from day one.

Looking ahead, Homewards and The Multibank are working together to plan support for 2026, ensuring that many more households across the UK benefit from this partnership. Their shared ambition is to expand the offer across Homewards’ six flagship locations, helping even more individuals and families to move into new homes with the essentials they need to thrive.
