The Homelessness
Data Lab

Using data and technology to prevent homelessness before people and families reach crisis point.

A Homewards partnership bringing tech, data and frontline expertise together to scale homelessness prevention across Homewards six flagship locations and beyond.

Why data matters for prevention

Through its work, Homewards has identified that many people show clear warning signs long before they lose their home. This means homelessness can be predictable and therefore preventable.

Too often, systems respond only once people are already in crisis. The Homelessness Data Lab exists to help change that.

How the Homelessness Data Lab works?

Partners from private sector organisations are working with homelessness charities and local authorities to deliver practical projects, tested in our Homewards locations, to use data better to support earlier intervention.

This includes

Improving coordination between services

Reducing admin for frontline teams

Enabling faster, more targeted support

As with all Homewards projects, lived experience is embedded across programme design, delivery and evaluation to ensure the solutions that are created will support those at risk.
